Getting a child addicted to mobile games and addicted to spending money during games may make for a long-term customer. They will gladly accept the money a child charges to their parents' credit card. And that those companies don't care where or who that money comes from, parents or children. I think the claim was that microtransactions are designed to take money from stupid people (ignorant adults, and innocent children).Īnd I think it's safe to say that many gaming companies specifically design mobile games to make as much money as they can. "Being happy for it to happen", while callous, is an entirely different issue. Apple neither designed the apps, nor was party to that intent. The claim was that companies specifically designed these apps to cause children to run up large bills on their parents cards.
